Insurer Anthem's Data Breach Involves 80 Million Records

Anthem, the nation’s second largest insurer, has suffered a massive data breach. So reports Healthcare IT News.

The data breach was discovered last week and impacts both Anthem customers and employees. Company officials believe 80 million records were accessed. The information stolen includes names, addresses, Social Security numbers and birthdates.

The FBI is now involved in investigating the hack, but as of yet, they haven’t determined who is behind the breach.
