Webcam Doctor Visits on the Rise

Patients are increasingly turning to their mobile devices for doctors visits. So reports the Chicago Tribune.

In 2014, 400,000 patients had appointments via webcam and that number is expected to increase in 2015. Driving that growth is the number of companies including virtual doctor visits as part of their benefit package.

The increase is also due to a growing acceptance of technology as 39% of adults feel comfortable with using technology such as smart phones to have a physician consult, according to a recent survey.
