Can Doctor House Calls Save Medicare Money?

The results of the first year of Independence at Home, a three-year incentive program funded by the Affordable Care Act, are set to come out soon. So reports The Washington Post.

The program offers incentives to participating practices that do house calls for elderly patients. The goal is to save Medicare money. Doctors do home visits to elderly patients unable or unwilling to come to a clinic and by doing so prevent small complaints from turning into large, costly medical emergencies.
