The Georgia Cancer Coalition and the state Department of Community Health recently received a $1 million dollar grant to create a patient-focused health information exchange. The project, which covers the Rome area, will help patients take better control of their medical information and could serve as a national model, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
