A primary concern for doctors is the accurate entry of information into patient files. This is a time consuming yet, necessary task; one that doctors have long relied on Dictaphone to complete. It is currently estimated that several hundred thousand physicians use Dictaphone systems to generate two million reports a day.

Most healthcare systems require doctors to treat a large number of patients each day. This increase in patient volume has led to a need for quick access to clinical information. In order to satisfy demand for speedier patient file turnaround, Dictaphone has integrated speech recognition into all of its major software packages, including EXSpeech and PowerScribe.

What this means for the physicians is; with this technology it will be possible to complete charts minutes after visiting with the patient. This not only leads to enhanced patient care, but more streamlined billing.

In some instances, use of the voice recognition software can greatly reduce reliance on outside transcription services. Not only does this control expenses but, this puts the physician in control of the reporting process. A doctor can now leave the office knowing that their reporting work for the day is complete.

Also, reports generated from transcription services can contain errors. Whether it is a misunderstanding of the medical terminology or formatting errors.

These problems can be eliminated with the use of Dictaphone Smart ReWrite. This technology learns the style of each doctors documents and will automatically correct grammer, rephrase items and learn new medical terminology. This allows the patient files to be uniformly clear, concise and accurate.

These advances in Dictaphone technology making reporting a smooth, seamless rocess for the doctors, with little or no error. Which ultimately benefits both the doctor and patient.
