CHICAGO (December 9, 2009) - AccenxTM a wholly-owned subsidiary of Initiate Systems, Inc., data management solutions for information sharing and improved data quality, reports that MemorialCare Medical Centers continues to endorse its choice of Accenx solution, Accenx ExchangeTM, as the interoperability platform to support its physician outreach program; commending its relationship with Accenx so far. MemorialCare is a nationally-recognized hospital system serving southern California. Earlier this year, MemorialCare chose Accenx to provide a low-cost solution which was rapidly and easily integrated into its systems, giving doctors seamless access to the data they needed. MemorialCare’s CIO has a favorable view of the Accenx Exchange platform, a wide-area integration platform for creating health information exchanges. “Accenx gives us a very powerful system, at a very reasonable cost. We can roll it out incrementally as our physicians begin to adopt these kinds of technologies - so it’s a pay-as-you-go method,” said J. Scott Joslyn, senior vice president and chief information officer at MemorialCare.Utilizing a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) delivery model, Accenx Exchange enables MemorialCare to deliver bi-directional orders and results to physician practices with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR), as well as to practices using paper charts. This high level of interoperability is achieved as a fully-managed service with only a small hardware appliance in each location. This eliminates the costs, risks and support challenges inherent with installing proprietary software, in hundreds of locations, widely dispersed throughout the community. “Some of our physicians have been waiting seven years for an interface with their EMR to the inpatient EMR and Accenx has achieved that in less than four weeks,” said Laurie Sicaeros, vice president, Physician Integration at MemorialCare. “It brings back the reputation that you are going to do what you say you are going to do.” To view the entire MemorialCare Medical Centers story, including what their physicians have to say of the implementation, visit www.accenx.com.
