Meaningful Use Exemptions Made Easier with New Law

A new bill that President Obama recently signed into law makes applying for a Meaningful Use exemption easier. So report Fierce EMR.

The law is part of the broader Patient Access and Medicare Protection Act. The Meaningful Use provision will make it easier for eligible doctors and hospitals to apply for hardship exception for 2015 reporting period. The payment adjustments would be seen in 2017.

It will also make it easier for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid to process the exemptions.
