Group to Docs: Dump the White Coat

The Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) wants doctors to stop wearing the white coat. So reports Philly.com.

While patient perception is that a doctor’s white coat is sterile, research has found that the white coat is often filled with germs and can spread infection. The same is true for stethoscopes, which are often extremely dirty.
