Doctors Choosing to Withhold Alzheimer's Diagnosis: Study

Nearly half (45%) of those being treated for Alzheimer's disease were never given a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s by their doctors, according to a new study. So reports Time Magazine.

Many doctors feel that telling a patient such a diagnosis would cause undue emotional distress. Many doctors also feel they don’t have the time or resources to fully discuss the diagnosis with their patient, so they withhold the diagnosis.
