Beth Israel Adds OurNotes to EHR System

A new pilot program at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) will give patients additional access to their electronic health records. So reports Healthcare IT News.

Using a $450,000 grant from The Commonwealth Fund, BIDMC will add OurNotes to its electronic health record system. OurNotes, part of the OpenNotes movement, will give patients the ability to add their own notes to their existing electronic health record. The hope is that letting a patients add notations to their medical records will increase communication between patients and physicians.
