Medical Industry Prime Target in 2015

In 2014, the medical industry received a warning from the FBI that industry security practices were not keeping pace with other industries, leaving the medical community vulnerable to more attacks from cyber criminals. So reports Government Health IT.

As more medical information becomes accessible digitally, it becomes a bigger target. In Experian's second annual data breach forecast, it predicts that wearables and other mobile devices, along with the healthcare industry's lack of securing PHI will pose the biggest risk to medical information.

Security industry experts believe that cyber criminals will use more sophisticated methods, such as social engineering, to select high value targets.
