In response to increased competition brought on by changes in the healthcare laws, several Emergency Rooms around the country are now offering appointments. So reports Government Health IT. 

 The appointments, made online, are only for those with non-life threatening conditions, and while the appointments are meant to help patients avoid waiting, they could still be bumped by a critically ill patient.
