Doctors Spend Less Time on Vital Signs

A new study appearing in Applied Clinical Informatics finds that doctors may skip some important information in the medical notes. So reports Fierce EMR.

Using an eye tracking device, the researchers determined where doctors directed their attention when reading electronic medical record notes. The study found doctors spent the most time in the impression and plan section, but skimmed over the vitals signs, test results and medications sections.
