Big Drop in Meaningful Use Attestation

A new report published by the CMS shows that of the 11,578 family physicians who attested to meaningful use in 2011, only 9,188 did so in 2012. That amounts to a 21% drop in participation, reports the AAFP.

Researchers have no definitive answer for why the numbers decreased, but they believe the large drop could be the result of the extended reporting period required in year two of attestation.
