Ohio-based Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic notified 17,300 patients of a data breach, reports Healthcare IT News.
The breach occurred after the clinic sent patient X-rays to a third-party vendor. The vendor was supposed to transfer the images to digital format, but instead sold the films to an Ohio-based recycling company that harvested the silver from the X-rays.
