Florida Combines Academics, Health Records

A new program in Miami-Dade County combines electronic health records and academic records for area students. Microsoft developed the Children’s Health Education and Economic Resource (CHEER). It uses the Microsoft Amalga health intelligence platform, reports eWeek.

In addition, CHEER will allow parents to store their child’s health information to Microsoft’s HealthVault. The new program will help teachers and nurses stay abreast of students’ health situations and academic performance. Click here to read the full article.
