An Easier Way to Educate Patients?

Educating patients is an important part of a doctor’s job, but not always the easiest. Patient education solutions like ExitCare aim to make it easier by giving doctors everything they need all in one place.

ExitCare’s modules cover discharge instructions, patient education materials and medication management. The documents are all patient-friendly and each is formatted with graphics, bullets, subheadings and color to make it easier to read and understand all the information. All the documents are available in a wide range of languages including Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Bosnian, Korean, Haitian-Creole, Canadian-French, Arabic and Traditional Chinese.

ExitCare works just as well for a large-scale hospital as it does for a small specialty practice. Some available modules settings include:

  • Emergency Department
  • Inpatient and Ambulatory Care

The Inpatient module contains more than 2,000 documents covering most medical specialties including Medical/Surgical, Cardiology, Ambulatory Surgery, Pediatrics, and Obstetrics (plus, many more). Some titles are formatted to provide concise information at discharge, while others contain more general informational documents.

In the ExitCare Ambulatory Care module, there are 3,000 titles covering most medical specialties, including Family Medicine, Pediatrics, and Obstetrics (plus, many more). Features include the ability to permanently archive all printed instructions and medications for each patient.

Physicians can create macros to combine topics such as work/school release forms and prescriptions to automate the discharge process for common conditions.
