Is Your Practice Overloaded with Forms?

The less time a patient spends in a waiting room filling out forms, the happier they are. Patient portals are a great way for practices to eliminate forms and keep patients moving from waiting room to exam room.

From Greenway, the makers of PrimeSuite, comes PrimePatient, a secure web portal that allows patients to send information directly to the practice anytime from anywhere. The portal gives patients access to a variety of self-service options. Using the portal, patients can schedule an appointment, request a refill and even pay bills. Plus, the portal gives patients access to their personal health records.

Greenway has integrated Microsoft HealthVault, PrimePatient and the PrimeSuite electronic health record, which gives patients a way to provide their health histories to their providers without ever filling out a single paper form. In addition, patients can share the information with family members, caregivers and other participating providers.

PrimePatient also lets patients submit appointment requests. With the portal, patients can indicate the reason for the visit, select a preferred date, and time for the appointment. The appointment request is routed from PrimePatient to the PrimeSuite electronic health record and a secure confirmation is sent back to the patient.

Patient pre-registration is simple and formless with PrimePortal. Patients can fill out their registration and health history forms before coming to the appointment. With PrimePatient, physicians can send patients a secure communication with their lab results. Also, PrimePatient includes an “Ask A Doctor / Ask A Nurse” feature, which lets patients submit questions via a secure channel.
