MacPractice and Spring Medical Systems Announce New Interface

Medical offices that depend on Macintosh computers recently received a welcomed boost of assistance after MacPractice and Spring Medical Systems announced a new HL7 compliant interface.

The module serves as a platform allowing for data integration between the MacPractice MD practice management system (PMS) and the Spring Medical chart system (EHR) in Mac-based offices.

Overall the innovative system will provide consistency within the office and thus reduces errors. The Apple-based practice can administer all business and clinical information in a single integrated system that allows for seamless data exchange between the PMS and EHR. Additionally, it eliminates unnecessary re-entry of information into several systems. Lastly, the system enables noticeably enhanced claims, billing and charting.

The platform is much welcomed among physicians who have long utilized the MacPractice and Spring Medical systems. The new solution is a landmark development for physicians and medical professionals who rely on Macintosh computers and networks to facilitate administrative and medical duties within their healthcare businesses. It is also very timely. According to a recent report by the Gartner Group, Apple continues to gain its market share among small businesses. In 2008 alone, the research group stated Mac sales have increased more than 30 percent among businesses.
