Spring Medical's SpringCharts EHR Falcon Version Review

Spring Medical Systems’ SpringCharts EHR Falcon Version is a complete solution to handle all aspects of patient documentation.

The software has a core design, consisting of four elements, which allows the user to quickly and efficiently complete tasks. It was created specifically for small to medium size medical practices.

In Use
The main elements include:

  • The Productivity Center, which has integrated tools for all types of documentation.
  • The Rapid Clinical Architecture, which has Tap N’ Go Navigation.
  • The SpringCharts Object Engine, which is a quick scalable object database.
  • The STAT-Track Workflow shortcuts, which allow the user to do routine medical office tasks such as prescription refills quickly and efficiently.

SpringCharts Falcon Version, which has extensive user interface updates from the previous version, is user friendly. The company has redesigned the windows and dialog boxes for easier use. It also has included context sensitive popup menus. Furthermore, there are also new print formatting options that allow users to customize the fonts and margins of their reports and letters. All of the added features and innovative main elements have improved usability, quality of charting and workflow.

Technology Employed
SpringCharts runs on Windows XP or above, or on MacOS Tiger 10.4 or above. Each computer needs a processor that is 2 GHz or faster, at least 500 MB of disk space, and 2GB of memory. It is recommended that the SpringCharts Server be located on a dedicated PC or Mac whenever possible. That’s because the software is a true client/server system that needs uninterrupted access to some of the server's resources.

Ease of Use, Configuration & Deployment
The software is configured on the server, so all basic information has to be entered before the system can be deployed. There are plenty of resources available to help users through the process, including tutorials, online resources and a support center. Once the software is deployed it is very easy to navigate through the entire system.

Recap
SpringCharts EHR was created to help improve patient care and increase productivity in small to medium size medical practices.
