MED3OOO Acquires Pathology Service Associates, LLC

MED3OOO, Inc., a national healthcare management and technology company, has acquired Pathology Service Associates, LLC (PSA). PSA, founded in 1995 by pathologists in South Carolina, is now the country’s largest provider specializing in pathology revenue cycle management (RCM) and practice management and marketing services.

It currently services over 75 independent pathology practices in 27 states, representing approximately 400 pathologists. While pathology remains its primary focus, PSA has recently expanded its services to include radiology practices.

“The affiliation with MED3OOO is a logical step in PSA’s evolution,” commented Al Sirmon, President and CEO of PSA. “MED3OOO brings PSA additional hospital experience and capital investment to continue to expand our services to pathologists, radiologists, and other hospital-based providers.”

Louis D. Wright, Jr., M.D., founder of PSA and a member of the Board of Governors of the College of American Pathologists, added that the relationship with MED3OOO will provide PSA with new technology and information system platforms to promote the integration of health information, not just with PSA clients, but with the 30,000 physicians who refer to those clients and the 300 hospitals at which they practice.

“The addition of PSA will expand MED3OOO’s service offerings and broaden our presence in the hospital-based physician market,” noted Patrick Hampson, Chairman and CEO of MED3OOO. “This acquisition reflects our strategic focus on identifying and acquiring great companies, with great management teams who share our vision and culture of using data management tools to support population health management.”
