Initiate Systems Fosters Collaborative Data Stewardship

Initiate Systems, Inc., a leader in master data management (MDM) solutions, has announced availability of the Initiate Master Data Service® platform v8.5, giving data stewards greater command over data governance and greater capabilities for resolving data issues quickly and efficiently across teams.

This latest version of Initiate Master Data Service software helps organizations efficiently implement data governance policies through more effective targeting of data stewardship resources. The collaborative data stewardship capabilities of Initiate Master Data Service will allow data managers to categorize issues based on business priorities, such as time, cost or risk. For example, these capabilities:

  • Provide a console for data managers to define business rules in order to categorize data issues.
  • Enable data managers to distribute complex combinations of categories of data issues to individual data stewards or groups of data stewards.
  • Empower data stewards to collaborate by moving issues to the appropriate managers.
  • Enable data stewards to work from the context of an inbox, making it simple and straightforward to view issues that require resolution.
  • Help data stewards to choose and prioritize issues and move them from the group’s inbox to their own inbox for resolution.
“We believe our latest version of Initiate Master Data Service is the only solution today that offers a data stewardship application with these capabilities,” said Sean Cassidy, vice president, products, Initiate Systems. “Our core platform addresses a specific pain point for our customers and helps them leverage their critical data assets more deeply than ever before.”

Cassidy added that the Initiate Master Data Service® platform delivers the benefits of collaborative data stewardship by prioritizing data quality issues according to business needs. This helps reduce cycle times and increase work-flow efficiency, which can lower the costs of processing overall, since fewer data stewards can manage more information.

In addition to the benefits of collaborative data stewardship, the Initiate Master Data Service Platform v8.5 provides connectivity to Pitney Bowes’ Group 1 customer data quality (CDQ) platform. This new functionality for data quality provides global address standardization and validation and geospatial data enrichment.

This latest version of Initiate Master Data Service is being featured this week at the Initiate Exchange conference at the Westin Kierland Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. Initiate customers are leading many of the educational sessions at the conference, providing real-world examples of their data management implementations using Initiate® solutions.
