HIMSS 2015 Conference Highlights

The 2015 Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition brings together nearly 40,000 healthcare IT professionals, clinicians, executives and vendors from around the world.

The hallmarks of the conference--showcasing cutting edge technologies and solutions in health IT, networking, and world-class symposia and workshops—seem to be only the tip of the iceberg for the 2015 conference taking place April 12-16 in Chicago.

Physicians will have dozens of options for learning from colleagues who are presenting on a wide variety of topics that address their key concerns in healthcare delivery. And there are more “must see” interactive exhibits on all aspects for health IT.

“This year, nearly 100 physicians will be presenting in our educational sessions,” said Carla Smith, MA, CNM, FHIMSS, executive vice president, HIMSS North America. “Much of our focus revolves around physicians and their needs – increasing the quality time spent on patient care, reducing medical errors, and transitioning to value-based versus volume-based care.”

Keynote speakers include George W. Bush, 43th President of the United States and creator of the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC). Addressing innovation in technology and business operations is Jeremy Gutsche, founder of Trendhunter.com and author of award-winning bestseller 'Exploiting Chaos: 150 Ways to Spark Innovation During Times of Change.'

Also presenting are Alex Gourlay, President of Walgreens, and Bruce Broussard, CEO, Humana.
